For Now my 8:00- 4:30 shift is a tedious but important task. I’m sorting nearly 1200 gels ( a cellophane like material used for tinting stage lates) according to color, light fixture, set location, size, and purpose. Often stopping to frame each one and size them if needed. I stare at lists that would seem like gibberish to the Lay Man. If you can tell me you know what
SR 2-D3-B #1 Etc 50 Degree (Dim 907) R01
translates into, then you have an idea of what 8 hours of having to organize, frame, and cut that much gel is like.
Not always fun.
But it’s the single biggest production I’ve ever been involved with. It’s not a gig I’ve started. It’s a career.
